Celebrating 20 Years of Excellence: Hear It From Our Patients

Celebrate two decades of Perfect Smile with our founders' story and real patient testimonials on what 20 years of trusted care truly means.

Twenty years is a long time to earn someone's trust. It is even longer to keep it.

This year, we are celebrating two decades of caring for the families and professionals of Santa Clara and San Jose. But this milestone was never really about the numbers. As our founders put it, it is about the lives we have been allowed to be a part of, and the difference we get to make in them. To mark the occasion, we want to share how it all began, and let a few of the people who know us best tell you what these years have meant to them.

How It All Began

Perfect Smile started in 2005 with Dr. Pham and a simple love of dentistry. She was excited to work with her hands, meet patients, and build relationships. But within a few years, the business side of things became overwhelming, and the joy she had envisioned started to fade.

That season led to the most important question the practice has ever asked. What is our purpose? What is this all for?

The answer changed everything. Dr. Pham and her husband came to see their skills in dentistry and in business not as the goal itself, but as gifts meant to serve others. From that clarity came the mission that still guides us today. We want to be a place where patients leave feeling better, not only from the physical dental care they receive, but uplifted mentally and emotionally too. And we hold the same commitment to our team, seeing each person as someone we get to help grow into the best version of themselves.

From a small group of four people, Perfect Smile has grown into two locations, eight doctors, and more than thirty team members. Many of those team members have been with us for over a decade. Many of our patients have too, with some even flying in from out of state after moving away. We are deeply humbled by that, and it is an honor we do not take lightly.

Hear It From Our Patients

Elizabeth, Patient of 7 Years

Elizabeth has trusted us with her regular cleanings for over seven years, and she credits our team with helping her stay on top of her dental health. "I am super happy. My teeth look great," she says.

What keeps her coming back is the feeling. "The hygienists and the doctors really care about my teeth and my dental health. Sometimes it feels like a family, and I really enjoy coming here." She also appreciates the small things, like the gentle reminders when a cleaning is due. "Sometimes I have a lot of things on my mind and I forget. They really care about my teeth, and I really appreciate it."

Jater, Patient of 2 Years

Jater first met Dr. Choi outside the practice and was so impressed by his character that he decided he wanted him for his dental care. Over the past two years, our team has helped him with cavities, fillings, and a wisdom tooth extraction, always with an eye on the bigger picture.

"He has been very professional, proactive, and essentially helping me develop better habits for my overall dental health," Jater shares. He also loves the clean, modern facilities and the courteous staff. And it has become a family affair. His kids see Dr. Tang and genuinely enjoy their visits, especially getting to pick a prize at the end. "Everyone always greets you with a smile. They are just very helpful."

Donald, Patient of Over a Decade

Some journeys take years, and Donald's is one of them. A longtime patient, he came to us with a missing tooth that had been managed decades earlier with a bridge. Dr. Pham suggested a more complete solution, one that would shift his teeth back into place, add an implant, and rebuild his bite so it would be far more functional. What followed was a multi-year path through Invisalign, implants, veneers, and crowns.

"I would not have committed to doing that unless I really trusted the staff here," he says. And that trust was rewarded. Throughout many long appointments, what stood out to him most was the empathy. The whole team pays attention when a patient starts to get uncomfortable, he explains, often suggesting extra numbing before he even had to ask. When a temporary crown broke, as they sometimes do, they resolved it almost immediately.

The most meaningful change, though, was not clinical. For years, Donald avoided showing his teeth when he smiled, even while giving talks in front of large audiences. "I developed the habit of never showing my teeth. While I thought I was smiling, I am pretty sure it did not look like I was smiling at all." Now, that has changed. "I am much more willing to show my teeth and smile when I talk." Recently he gave his first talk with his new smile, and as he says, that makes a big difference.

Here Is to the Next 20 Years

Twenty years in, the mission is the same as the day we rediscovered it. It has been an incredible journey, difficult at times and deeply fun at others, and it would not have been possible without the support, encouragement, and commitment of our team and our patients.

To everyone who has been part of this story, thank you. We are grateful, we are humbled, and we cannot wait to keep growing alongside you. Here is to many more years of healthy, confident smiles.
